Maelstorm...

Hello everyone! Today's article is sponsored by yours truly Miss Maelstorm.
Should I start by explaining my alias?
My alias is inspired by my own name which means ocean and the "maelstrom", also known as a large and very powerful whirlpool, capable a sucking in ships to the bottom of the ocean.

I like to consider myself a unique kind of person.

Just like a maelstrom I like to suck in different cultures, music, fashion etc.
For example, I don't just listen to mainstream pop or hip-hop music even though I love Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj or Drake, I like to also listen to rock groups like Linken Park, Green day or Simple Plan.
Sometimes I even wish I could sing Dubstep!

You could say that immersing myself in a storm of different genres of books, tv shows, music, games and fashion makes me happy.
I'm always fascinated when I learn new things through these occupations and its a joy I can't put into words.

This is why I would like to share, one of my interests, with you fellow bloggers.
I'd like to introduce to you a genre of music I've been following since 2009, called K-pop.
As much as I love other music genres I just can't get over korean pop music and geek about it in sites like tumbler or twitter!
Korean pop music is a whole new experience, full of boy bands and girl bands, decked out in flashy outfits and one of a kind jewelry.
Not only that, kpop overcomes the language barrier and releases unique, never before heard, catchy music.

However, what makes the kpop industry  as exciting as the American industry is its abundance of boy bands, girl bands and solo artists that dominate the korean industry.
They have certain appeal to foreign fans, such as myself, that demands our attention because these groups were trained to be successful.
Unlike in the west, in Korea, groups are formed by a company who gather young teens, through auditions, and trains them, for more than 4 years, before debuting them in "idol" groups.

These idols and their catchy songs are what have made kpop internationally recognized in many countries; especially France.
Did you know that Korea's number 1 entertainment company, SM Entertainment, has performed kpop concerts, for its numerous kpop groups, in the ZĂ©nith inParis?

Unfortunately, I haven't been to a kpop concert because they always seem to perform on a school week! But I hope I'll one day be able to see my favorite kpop idols.

Thank you for listening to me ramble on about kpop.
Bye, see you next time!
