    the tradition would be puting the red elf on that shelf between Christmas Eve and Christmas so it can observes the children's behavior, if they are nice or bad. Then the elves make their report to Santa so he can bring gifts to nice children

  3. My oncle had said to me that this tradition is to put the elf doll in diferents places during the night to make believe that this doll has had adventures during the night, like Toys story ;)
