Blackman on admiration...

Do I admire any people? No, I don't. Only God.

My parents taught me that we can't admire a creature like us, it can be considered a sin. We should admire only God.

We can like something or someone, but we can't "admire" someone or something.

Admiring an other person rather than God can be considered like  a sin in all religions.

A very interesting view on the subject... Food for thoughts, really.  Mrs P.

    I agree with you when you say we can like someone but we can't admire him/her, or at least I can't really admire a person. For the rest, I don't share your point of view but I respect it :)

    I think you made a confusion between admiration and adoration...
    In the contrary, all the religion encourage the humans to have admiration, toward the nature for exemple, which has been created by god, if you're a believer. And still as being a believer, you can admire (not adore -> not worship them)some people who have, in your religion, well followed god principles...

    So to sum up, i think you made a little confusion between the verbs, "to admire" and "to adore". You can ask your parents about that, that would be interesting. :)

      I agree with you, I think thee's a difference between "adoration" which should remain religious and "admiration" which is positive.
