Pradel's article...

The association that I chose is les Restaurants du Cœur  commonly and familiarly known as the Restos du Cœur.
It  is a french charity: the main activity of this association is to distribute food packages and hot meals to the needy.
It was founded by the comedian Coluche in 1985.

The comedian and actor
Coluche launched the idea of the Restos du Cœur on 26 September 1985.

"I have a little idea, a bit like this... If there are people who would be interested in sponsoring a free soup kitchen, we'd start first in Paris and then spread to France's big cities."

The first of the Restos opened on 21 December and soon multiplied all over the country.

The goal of the founders was to give away 2,000 to 3,000 meals per day; 8.5 million were distributed in the first winter alone.

The initiative was supported by a song written by the songwriter and singer Jean-Jacques Goldman called 'Les Restos du Cœur', which included some of the lyrics being sung or read out by other celebrities.

A televised show allowed the organization to collect several million francs.

Coluche pleaded for the Restos' cause at the European Parliament in February 1986 after learning that surplus products cost more to store than to distribute for free to the poor; his plea was heard and the surplus was opened in 1987 to four organizations.

France has a huge housing problem and it is charitable organizations like this that stop hundreds of homeless people dying each winter.

I think that this charity is really important because there are so many persons who die of hunger every years and it's important to not forget that it could be any of us, every person in the world needs to be helped by the others.

The most important thing it's to know that sometimes even if those homeless poeple got a job they could not have a home, sometime it's just persons who don't have enough money to buy food, that's why I think that this type of association are really important to give hope to every one who don't believe that their life could be better.

The person who works in this association does it for free, they just want to give hope, and love to those persons that is really amazing.

Every person is important and thank to this association the needy one could not think that they are nothing.

Grallouch's article....

If I should make a gift to an association that would be for an animal association.

Indeed, I love animals and I’m for their protection.

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, founded in 1964, is the world's most comprehensive inventory of the global conservation status of biological species.

The IUCN Red List is set upon precise criteria to evaluate the extinction risks of thousands of species.

These criteria are relevant to all species and all regions of the world.

The aim is to convey the urgency of conservation issues to the public and policy makers, as well as help the international community to try to reduce species extinction.

Can you imagine a world without animals?

We have many and different categories depending on the severity of  the loss of the species:
Extinct (EX): No known individuals remaining.

Extinct in the wild (EW): Known only to survive in captivity, or as a naturalized population outside its historic range.

Critically endangered (CR): Extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.

Endangered (EN): High risk of extinction in the wild.

Vulnerable (VU): High risk of endangerment in the wild.

The causes are numerous.

They can be natural like drought, the ice melt, the fires etc... but it’s because of men that this species disappear.

Seas and forests are destroyed and polluted.

Animals are hunted for their meats, skins, theeth, scales, feathers or their fat to make clothes, jewels or comectics.

And I think it’s very sad… and the world has to react !

It’s why I’d donate many money to every associations like IUCN.

Essena's article....

As it was World Cancer Day  4th of February, I wanted to share with you the existence of an incredible charity: Cancer Research UK.

I would love to be involved in this charity someday because it goes straight to my heart.

Indeed, a friend of mine suffers of a breast cancer since a few years now. So I know how it can be awful for the patient to have this disease because some treatments are exhausting and sometimes they are not effective… Lost someone that you are close to is for sure the worst thing that can happen in life. She loves life so much that she would do everything to stay alive and I admire her for that. This is why I want to be part of the Cancer Research UK.
As you can understand from the name, this charity conducts research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease. It has made consistent progress in the fight against cancer thanks to donations given by people from all around the world. Their life-saving work relies on the money people gave them so it is really important to share this charity, through social networks for example, because if you can’t donate, someone else maybe can.
Created in 2002, this charity has saved millions lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, even rare ones. More over, this charity organizes numerous events like charity walks with the aim to raise funds and to be known. Maybe one day I will be a volunteer and will organize one of these events to take a proper part in this charity.

Jenny Margaret's article...

If I could get involved in charity work later in life
I would like to do  « Red Nose Day » , which is a fund-raising   organisation who helps children  to get out of poverty .
The event  happens   every year and this year  it will take place  on the 13th of March .

Red Nose Day is campaign which  is very popular in England : it  raises money simply by having fun and making people laugh .The money which is raised goes to charities who help poor children in the UK and  in  the poorest  communities acroos the world.

In  the UK, Red Nose Day has been going on for the past  thirty years : it is an insipiring  cultural  phenomenon  that unites different people who are from diverse origins and social clases , that s’what  I like about  this event  and that is what makes me want to participate.

On Red Nose Day  people buy a red nose from a charity vendor and they wear it to show their support. Celebrities  act or write funny shows which are sponsered for charity . Normal people  too raise some   money by doing crazy or funny things like dress as Disney character and go to work like that , or in school peole get dressed up.

Evryone does something different ;  and at the end the funds  that are raised  are given to charities to finance some projects in the UK and her other half is given to communities in need in the third world.

So, if I could do some charity work, it woud be for Red Nose Day, because the way funds are collected   is easy and fun, and evryone can participate and give a bit of their time to help others whilst enjoying themselves.

Clyde's article...

Hello everyone,

This is Clyde and I'm going to talk about a charity.

The subject which particularly touches me is about the homeless.

In France , 141.500 persons are homeless people !

The number of homeless people has risen by 50% in ten years.
The profiles diversified, we find more and more young people in the street, asylum seekers and psychiatric sick !
Also, 355,000 calls for accommodation for homeless persons were formulated during winter, 2013/2014 but only 140,000 places were attributed.
A SDF is not exactly a homeless person.

The homeless persons are  persons deprived of accommodation.

The homeless people in France are people not benefiting from a mailing address for the administration.

3 people out of 4 think that the homeless persons do not manage to take out there, it's their fault.

Doubtless because they were never confronted themselves to the street.

The homeless have a  structure by age rather different besides from the Parisian population, with for example much fewer people old older than 60years.

22 % of the homeless men in Paris are between 16 and 30 years.
57 % of the men are between 3 and 51 years. 19 % of the men are between 51 and 64 years.
2 % of the men are 65 years old and more.
48 % of the homeless women are between 18 et 30 years.
6 % of the women are between 51 and 64 years and 1 % of the women are 65 years old and more.
57 % of the homeless people are single 8 % are married.
More than 1 homeless person on 3 divorced or is a widower.

In 2009, the prowlers of the Samu social made 6,500 meetings in the street, meetings which concerned 700 different people. On these 700 homeless persons, more than 500 of them were new in the city.

I chose to support this charity thanks to this association " equality " because today I find that the homeless people is a little erased, many people speak about these people in the street but do not make the necessity to help them. Several associations help these people living in the cold such as the famous association "red cross", the ICEM association and the Action association cold.

Several associations help these people living in the cold such as the famous association "red cross", the ICEM association and the Actionfroid association

The homeless people faces daily the difficulties of the street. The cold is not the only concern of the homeless people. It is inequitable and anormal to leave a human being outside, to sleep in the street with the slightest risk of insecurity (the rain, the thunderstorm, risk of attacks, robberies, etc....

Let us not leave people in the street, let us act !!

Fechouille's article

When I grow up , I will endorse a Charity cause.

To me , the cause of children in the world is very important , because I consider I'm lucky to have been  born in a contry of freedom and rights : we have access to a free education and France is one of the most developed countries in the world.

It's why it's important to me to be member of an humanitary organisation like UNICEF to protect and give a chance to all children.

Indeed, right now there are still 58 million primary-aged children unschooled , morever a large number of little children are stunted because of malnutrition …
The worst is that without school setting , violence is promoted and because of civil wars in a lot of countries in Africa , children are exposed to the violence and are enrolled in terrorist organisatons and become child soldiers...

So, to improve the quality of life of children, UNICEF relies on  ''the international Convention of the Rights of children'' signed out by 195 countries .

It's a convention of 54 articles like '' The right to have a name , a nationality , an identity '' ; '' the right to go to school '' The right to be protected againt any sort of discrimination '' The right to not do the war or not submit to ''…

By this way , UNICEF makes all the possible to protect childhood by 2 protocols : protect the child against recruitement in armed conflict , protect the child from the sale of children ( forced labour , illegal adoption , all sort of trafic ..)

It's why I would be a part of this organisation , because I want to help children who don't have a careless childhood .

Thx for reading me !

Bush's article...

For what charity cause I would like to get involved ? I like this subject because for some years I've thought of doing  charity work at the end of my studies. That's why I will tell you how we can engage in charities, and in the purpose of what ?
The  humanitarian help is for poor population and underdeveloped countries.
It aims at meeting the basic needs such as water, food, housing etc... but also to promote and defend human dignity and human rights.
Humanitarian aid can also be done during natural disasters in order to give life to these people.
This aid may come from various sources such as association, NGOs or even states.
In general, they send volunteers, but can also employ paid staff and qualified.
On the Internet you can find lots of humanitarian training in all kinds of fields.

Humanitarian missions can be done by anyone, just be motivated, present, and just a little bit of money because we pay our travel.
According to surveys, they describe the experience as uncommon, they encounter endearing people. Some are busy children in african countries to their shared things , given their desire to learn.
A Woman who  leftforCambodge says :
« I was touched by the gentleness of the people always ready to laugh with us despite their difficult situation, their smiles, their recognition, the curiosity of children , their laughter and these shared moments . A beautiful lesson of life that allows us to put many things in perspective ! »
This is what I will wish to live, it must be a wonderful time, especially with children because they are the most engaging and expressive.
The aim of these missions is to bring our resources, our care and all the things one has managed to develop in our country unlike those countries that do not have the means.

This is why the humanitarian missions interress me a lotwhen the notion of sharing is put forward, and for me it is one of the most beautiful things that man can do : share.
