Pradel's article...

My name is Pradel.
 I am 17 years old but I will be 18 soon .
 I live in bourges
I have got one little sister who is 15 years old, and a younger brother who is 6 years old

The cult movie which is my favorite movie is Harry Potter wich is in reality a saga of 8 movies.
It is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author  JK Rolling.

They will be adapted into movies afterwards.

I love to watch this saga because I think that it is interesting to follow the characters years after years and to see what happened to them and how they changed themselves into something good or not.

In this saga the thing that I prefer it's that in every movies something new, a new adventure is begining related to the one of the past ; we everytime learn new things about the characters and their life in the past and that teaches us why they are becoming like they are latter.

The series tells us  the adventures of a young wizard, Harry Potter, the titular character, and his friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The main story arc concerns Harry's quest to defeat the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who aims to become immortal, conquer the wizarding world, subjugate non-magical people, and destroy all those who stand in his way, especially Harry Potter.
That's why with the help of his friends and his professors he will do all that is possible to fulfill his mission.

Don't forget you can provide articles for the blog...

Blondy and photography

Dear readers,

I'm Blondy. It's my nickname because I have blond hair and all my friends call me "Blondy".

I love
to spend time with them, going to parties or going  shopping.

I'm seventeen years old but I have had my driver licence for two months.

In fact, now if you are able to drive with your parents for one year, you can get the driver licence.

It's great to be autonomous.

More over, I practise a lot of activities, so I can drive myself everywhere.

Indeed, I go to the swimming-pool and to the fitness center. But my favourite sport is dancing. I've practiced it for 14 years because it's a universal body language.

I do ballet, modern and contemporary dance. I can try to feel my emotions.

When I dance, I'm free.

Dancing is as natural as breathing for me. It's a part of me.

That's why, I have an actual tattoo on my arm which is the word "DANCE".

Later, I'd like to become a professional dancer even if I have other passions.

I like reading novels. My favourite writer is Maupassant: I love realism because we could be a
character. I enjoy writing too, that's good to relax.

I'm fond of History, languages such as Spanish
and English.

Of course, I love travelling, especially in plane. I've been abroad. I visited Spain, England.
It was fantastic but my favourite trip was this summer because I went to the USA.

My favourite city is Los Angeles and I would like to go back to study. I think I can perfect my dancing
skills there.

Venice Beach, Skate Park, Los Angeles, CA, USA

I love challenges, so I would like to have a lot of experiences in my life.

I want to fulfil my dreams.

Whatever life brings me. Hopefully money, success and love.

I'm fond of Art and one of my favourite is photography. I think it's usefull to remember the past and some memories.

That's why, I like to spend time to explore website to find photographer.
I prefer black & white photos because it's more authentic and nostalgic.

Henri Cartier-Bresson was a french photographer who took black & white photos.

His nickname was "the eye of the century". Indeed, he was born on 1908, so he lived both world wars and he took many photos of those.

During the second world war, he was made prisoner by the germans. He managed to escape, after
several attempts, on february in 1943.

He entered the MNPGD which was a clandestine movement.
It was a help for prisoners and escaped prisoners.

During the Liberation of Paris, he joined professionals to take photos of this moment. He made areport called "The come back" to explain prisoners and deportee persons' repatriation.

I also like his work because he travelled a lot. Indeed, for example, he saw the Spanish republican's
tragic fate. In fact, during the Spanish civil war (1936-1939), the republicans were opposed to the
nationalists directed by Franco.

At the end, Franco's government reigned over all Spain and terrorized the Spanish republicans who had lost everything.

He lived through his century and intercepted historical days. He is known for his street report and
his real life photos without forced behaviour.

He founded in 1947 the agency Magnum Photos with Robert Capa, David Seymour and George
Rodger.

They spent three years in Orient afterwards.
They became witness of Ghandi's death in India.

Henri Cartier-Bresson was also known to take photos of famous people like Coco Chanel, Samuel
Beckett, Igor Stravinsky...

I will say that Henri Cartier-Bresson, traveller and famous photographer was a real artist.

Indeed, he had never lied and relayed the truth. More over, he was the first photographer able to take
photos of URSS after 1962.

So, I think Henri Cartier-Bresson was the best photographer of the XXth century.

Aliena's trip to new-York...

MY TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY

Last year I visited the fascinating city of New York. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to write an article about my experiences there.

The summer before my sophomore year in high school, my grandmother picked me up and took me on a trip to New York City.
She said that she wanted it to be my birthday present, but I know she enjoyed it as much as me.
In fact, my grandmother is crazy about tennis, she travels all around the world to support the french team, and I'm almost sure that it's not fate which made her buy this apartment next to Roland-Garros. Anyway, she got tickets for the US Open and she told me that she wanted to go with me.
New York City was a dream come true. My trip there was like discovering a new world and a new way of life.

I didn't realize where I was going until we arrived at the airport. On the plane, my neighbors were so boring, and I was so excited to be there that the flight felt like days. When we arrived, it was almost midnight, and my grandmother was so tired in the way to the hotel, that she forgot her handbag in the cab. You probably think that it was just some useless bag, but it wasn't. It was THE bag. We had just lost our passports, our money, our tickets to the US Open and a really expensive camera. Actually, the bag wasn't really lost. It was simply in the trunk of a cab which was probably driving all over New York.
My grandmother, who doesn't speak a word of English, counted on me to find our bag. I had to speak to the hotel receptionist to try to find a solution. I called several companies of taxis and I left them the number of our room. In fact, we spent the first three days of our stay around the hotel, waiting for a call. But we managed to find the bag eventually.

We were finally able to enjoy our trip to New York. My grandmother took me in all the great places she had heard about. We visited the Empire State Building, Times Square and Central Park...

I even had the chance to meet with this famous green lady who's standing right on Ellis Island.

It was like being on a movie set, it didn't felt real. It was just awesome ! Even the hotel seemed to be coming from a movie. We had a beautiful view on all the city and on the greatests skyscrapers.

New York was a whole new world. Everywhere I looked, there were people hailing taxis, waiting on buses, running through the streets. Just standing there and watching all those people was an interesting observation. I was so excited to be there, everything was so different from what I used to know.

The last three days, we went to Flushing Meadow for the US Open. My grandmother was so happy ! She was dancing and singing all the way to the courts. I really enjoyed watching tennis with her. I was so glad to be there and I was so excited to support the french team.

When the cab left us at the airport, I didn't realize that I was going to leave the town. I was starting to feel part of it, part of this incredible mess. But as we say, all good things must come to an end.

When we came back to France, I felt pretty confused. I wasn't able to speak french. English words and american expressions were dancing in my head, it was so weird.

In conclusion, I would say that my trip to New York City was a life changing experience. It is probably one of the most incredible things that ever happened in  my life.
