Computers, by Onche-Onche

A computer is an electronic machine which reads binary functions. Computers execute programs with a visual console.
The first was built in 1946 by Peter Eckert and J. Mauchly.

The programming of this computer was made by connecting between them its various elements. It consisted of 19000 tubes, it weighed 30 tons, occupied a surface of 72 m2 and consumed 140 kilowatts. The clock was100 KHZ.
The speed was approximately 330 multiplications(increases) per second.
It was not very practical for individuals!!!
In 1971, the first computer sold to the public wasn't a success because it was too big.

Steve Jobs, a fondator of Apple made a micro-computer for people  with little money.
The small Computer became a good industry.
In 1984, Acer made a computer.
The Internet arrived  in 1994. It's a moment when computers became a world industry.
In 15 ans years, the computer become a best device of the world.
Most of  jobs  are made on the maintaining of computers, people become even "crazy" for their computer. Sometimes to the extreme (loneliness, suicides...)
The Personal Computer is a  current device :we would not imagine to do without it anymore .
Now there are a multitude of computers, (laptops, computes with a central unit, netbooks, pads...)
We cannot return to the past. The computer takes a big place in our life. It is essential, but can't take all part of our life.

Thank you for this technical article. As for me, a computer is a tool which takes a big part in everyday life. Too big a part? That's for your comments to say!

A TV series I like, by Cockatoo

The X-files is a TV show about paranormal phenomena. It's written by Chis Carter. There are 9 seasons.

The heroes work for the FBI.

Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are two persons who search the truth in those paranormal activities.

Mulder and Scully have not the same personality. He believes in this whereas Scully remains sceptical.
All along the story Mulder is haunted by the disappearance of his sister Samantha. He thinks she was abducted by extraterrestrial beings.
During the story, they are against other members of the FBI. Mulder and Scully are friends.
These two characters investigate different mysterious cases , some of them very strange.

The last sentence in each episode is: "The truth is out there".

I love this series because there is a lot of imagination.
It mixes paranormal phenomena and police investigations.

The episodes are mostly independent but some of them are to be continued.
The suspense is always present.
There is not a true ending, you can imagine the end.
Watch it!

My dream destination, by Jade

If I had to choose a country for a visit, I would choose the United States.

If you like walking in mountains or relaxing on the beach, it is possible!

There are also all the museums and the historical monuments it is possible to visit for those who do not like open areas.
So, whether you are attracted by the snow, the sea or the museums, this country is made for you!

Indeed other activities offer themselves to you but it belongs to you to discover them.

Have a nice trip!

Tattoos, by Ghost Wolf

TATOO

Etymology : The word tattoo originates from the Tahitian "TA-TU" which itself derives from the phrase "TA-Atouas" composed of "TA" (drawing) and "Atouas" (spirit). Indeed, the natives marked their bodies and to conciliate the graces and favors the protection of their mind, their "guardian angel".

First apparition: In any case, certainly not in China as is a persistent legend, the Hindu legend of CYRROHEE and Bantas is mentioned. Ötzi: the Iceman
This frozen human was found in the Austrian Alps 5,300 years ago. This is the oldest known tattooed. He has 57 tattoos, some of which appear to be the treatment of arthritis in joints such as ankles, knees and lower back.

History: Closer to us and Europe, we find traces in Gaul, the ethnic groups "British" (CESAR note in "De Bello Gallica" that all the Britons stain the skin with a coloring matter of blue tint. ").
The Romans used tattoos to mark the mercenaries, slaves, criminals and heretics. So after the Battle of HASTINGS, mutilated and decapitated body of King ARNOLD could be identified by the word "EDITH" it was tattooed on his chest.

The early Christians of the East, and especially the Copts were tattooed symbols of their religion, this custom has also perpetuated a long time (until the twentieth century) among the pilgrims visiting Jerusalem.

In the Middle Ages, Rome banned tattooing.

Technical: Since 1891, when the first electric tattoo machine, tattoos are made in the West (at least by professionals) by means of this device working at a rate of 3000 to 5000 bites / min; the very fine needles (from 0 , 10 / 0.12 mm) are welded to a support rod attached to the machine.
After the pattern is chosen, the tattooist makes a sanitization of the party to tattoo then reproduces the pattern is traced with a pencil freehand or using a layer transfer, the actual operation can begin.
The outline is pricked by a beam of one or three needles according to the desired fineness of the line, then he proceeds to shading (if applicable) and then fill in with color beams from June to August needle assemblies in "round "or" comb ".
Once finished, the tattoo is again cleaned with antiseptic and covered with a healing ointment and covered with a sterile non-adherent.
Dressing should be renewed three times daily for 3 days.
